I'm a registered nurse, Board Certified Nutrition Specialist, and board-certified functional medicine practitioner with a master's in functional nutrition and advanced training in environmental toxicology.
I spent over a decade trying to heal my own body from chronic migraines and gut dysfunction — through nursing school, through functional nutrition training, through every "fix" that helped for a while and then stopped working.
The problem wasn’t necessarily that I hadn't found the right intervention. It was that nothing I tried was in the right order.
Hi, I'm Erin Lawson, MS, RN, CNS®, BCFMP
why this work, when nothing else did
Everything changed when my husband's tick-borne illness pushed us past symptom management and into root-cause work — testing what was actually happening in his body instead of guessing at what might help.
That process didn't just change his health. It changed how I practice. I stopped treating symptoms as the problem and started treating them as information — data pointing to a terrain that hadn't been given what it needed, in the order it needed it.
That's the foundation of everything I teach now.
Most practitioners fall into one of two camps: conventional medicine, which treats symptoms because insurance dictates the visit, or functional medicine, which has increasingly become the same supplement-stacking guesswork with a wellness label on it.
I sit somewhere else.
I trained as a nurse first — which means I understand the conventional model from the inside, not as an outsider criticizing it. My CNS® credential required a master's degree, 1,000 supervised clinical hours, and a national board exam — a level of clinical rigor most functional practitioners never go through. And my advanced training in environmental toxicology means I'm not guessing at what's in someone's terrain — I'm trained to actually find it, using tools like the Vibrant Total Toxin Burden panel, Oligoscan, and IMAET bioenergetic assessment.
That combination — nursing credibility, clinical nutrition rigor, and environmental toxicology — is not common. Most people you've worked with before had one of these. I bring all three, in a sequence that's been tested on my own body and on hundreds of clients since.
why this is different
Healing is not random. It has a sequence.
The Terrain Reset Method™ is that sequence — Drain, Digest, Dig, Detox — the order your body actually needs support in, not the order most protocols happen to offer it.
Drain
Before anything else, your body needs somewhere for what it releases to go. Skip this, and every other intervention adds to a pile that was already overloaded.
Digest
Nearly three-quarters of your immune system lives in your gut. Nothing else holds if digestion isn't functioning.
Dig
This is where we find what's actually driving your symptoms — the specific burdens, infections, or imbalances your terrain has been carrying.
Detoxify
Only once drainage and digestion are functioning can detox pathways actually clear what's been found — safely, and without the crash so many people experience when they try to detox out of order.
This is the method behind everything I teach, from the free training through Heal By Design™.
my philosophy
I believe your body isn't broken. It's communicating.
Symptoms aren't malfunctions — they're your body's way of saying something deeper needs attention. Most people have spent years chasing those symptoms out of order, and wondering why they're still stuck. When you address the terrain in the right sequence, everything changes — not because you found a new intervention, but because you finally gave your body what it needed, when it needed it.
If that resonates, start with the free training — it's the same framework, explained in full.
